Sound Minds, Wandsworth Carers’ Centre and EMHIP (Ethnicity and Mental Health Improvement Project) are working together on a new project – Bridging Minds. Our collaboration was inspired to create a gateway of communication between BAME people with lived experience of mental ill health and their families and carers. Previous research revealed correlations between poor mental health and difficult relations between BAME individuals and their families and carers. We want to open discussions and address this issue.
As part of Bridging Minds, we are running a series of forums, the next of which will take place on Friday 31st March from 12-2pm at the Community Empowerment Network. The focus of this forum will be on crisis prevention and recovery. If you are a BAME person with lived experience of mental ill health or a carer or family member and would like to attend please get in touch!
