Job opportunity: Creative Development Worker

We are looking for a musician to come in to a role at Sound Minds which is varied and includes individual and group work in music, the production of events, and steering our members’ creative journeys. The successful candidate will be proactive with a can do attitude and combine these different elements to make a real difference and help grow the organisation.

Due to the nature of the work with our members the role needs to be carried out in person and is not suitable for remote working.

We particularly encourage people with lived experience of mental ill health to apply.

We are looking for someone who is well organised, with good time management skills and attention to detail.

Main purpose of the job:

  • To work with clients with mental health problems in individual and group sessions, helping them to achieve and create through live music and music production.
  • To work with our members on an ongoing 121 basis to ensure that their creative practice develops.
  • To take the lead role in the development of internal and external events including gigs, visual art exhibitions and workshops. Working in in collaboration with other staff members and session leaders.

Salary: £26,250 per annum (Pro Rata) & 3% contribution to pension

Hours: 21 hours per week, including the core days of Tuesday and Thursday

This fixed term contract ends on 31st March 2027 and is renewable depending on funding. You will be required to have a DBS (criminal records check) and satisfactory written references before starting.
