Mia Morris OBE – Canerows Project Manager
Our impact report is now ready and I have been involved in some capacity for the majority
of project as coordinator. I have witnessed the shift in thinking by the mental health Trust
and the community as we embrace positive change.
I wish to pay tribute to all the ward visitors past and present – for their courage in the role
and for showing empathy with the services users and demonstrating the utmost respect in
carrying out their role.
At the end of the day, people want to lead a purposeful life and we are driving change and
helping them find the light. We are there to support service users and help them to find a
new identity. We are in a new era in regards to mental health as more and more people are
talking about it and taking action. We at Canerows have never underestimated how
powerful this is. We are about meeting the unmet needs. We work in partnership with
community and the Trust, not in isolation.
What about the future, as we dare to dream big and welcome the impact that the
transformation peer support team will make? So please do watch this space. I am so proud
to be an agent for change.
