a band 4 web June2011's edition of 'Headlights' (our residency at the Princes Head Falcon Road SW11) was hosted by 'Manifesto'. We were truly privileged to hear the Mac-loving North London pop craftsmen playing their killer hiNRG set of winning tunes before they go global! Joining the band for the funkiest of blues jams was SM Jazz's James Kirk. The evening was also graced by our own Dave Cuthbert, the John Watson Band and Lynne Sansome who sang tunes from her cult 90's album.

On Thursday 26th May the BBC Radio London's Eddie Nestor Show returned to Sound Minds to catch up on what's new since the programme broadcast live from the studio for World Mental Health Day 2009.

Paul and Devon are interviewed about the impact of personal budgets on the charity and service users. Part of Eddie's coverage of Mental Health Awareness Week.

Jean 'Binta' Breeze

For the Moondance on 19th May 2010 more than 80 people crammed in to the bar and cinema to enjoy films including the documentary 'The Day We Danced on the Moon', and 'Bernard the Bee' and other films from Sound Minds. Music came from The Blessed and The Channel One Band, who also were privileged to follow in the footsteps of Dennis Bovell and provide backing for Jean'Binta' Breeze's dub poetry.

Particular thanks to director Tristan Daws who jetted in from Dublin for the event, Jean 'Binta Breeze for her poetry and great presence, Justine from the Arts Festival Office and Jo from the Exhibit who all helped to make this such a great event!

Our film 'Bernard the Bee goes to Chelsea' was been selected from 200 films submitted for inclusion in 2011's The Rob Knox Film Festival' which took place in June. 'Bernard' was one of just 50 shown, so a great achievement for everyone involved! Last spring Sound Minds won the Dalerush Workshop Film Competition, and with it an opportunity to make the documentary at the Chelsea Flower Show. The film follows an urban bee on his journey around the show with contributions from Rob Brydon, Dr.David Bellamy, Miss Barbados and Maid Marion.
